Trustee Scholar Program

The Trustee Scholars Program rewards what is truly honored, valued and admired at Ringling College. Selection as a Trustee Scholar is the highest honor awarded by the Ringling College of Art and Design.

The award recognizes:

  • Creative Talent
  • Communication and Creative Thinking
  • Contributions to the Department, College and/or Community - on-campus leadership; good citizenship; participation in social organizations; ability to be a department or student life mentor

Each spring, prior to the April meeting of the Board of Trustees, the faculty of each department and the staff of Student Life, meet to select the names of two (2) candidates for the Trustee Scholars Award. Each student is asked to submit a video presentation of their work with descriptive information, written statement, evidence of contributions to their department, school and/or community, and resume to be presented to the Trustee Scholar Selection Committee for review and recommendation. The materials of the award recipients will be on permanent file in the Alfred R. Goldstein Library.

Trustees Scholars will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship and will be introduced to the Board of Trustees as a special awards ceremony. While completing their senior year, Trustee Scholars will work closely with department faculty by helping to mentor other students. Students selected as Trustee Scholars must complete their senior semester on campus.
